Eid Dinner | September 26, 2009 @ 7-9pm | Norris – Louis Room

With Ramadan ending and the academic year beginning concurrently this year, the Annual Eid Dinner will appropriately be centered around the importance of transitions in Islam. The dinner will include a brief lecture by a Sheikh Omar Baloch titled “Transitions: Preparing for the Future by Learning from the Past.”

Sheikh Omar has a Shahadah from Al-Azhar University, Cairo with an emphasis on Arabic language and Minhaj (methodology) of Dawah. Prior to that, he studied in Pakistan in Jamia thul Ahlul Hadith. He is a student of Dr. Israr Ahmed and Abdur Razzaq sahib. While in Egypt, he attended study circles of Sheikh Abdul Hameed Kishk (may Allah have Mercy on him) and Sheikh Muhammad Jibreel. He has served as an Imam in Hagerstown, MD and has also taught at Al Huda Islamic School. He is extremely good at engaging the youth and is a frequent lecturer and speaker at many campus events. He writes extensively on a variety of Islamic topics and is the author of many articles.

The dinner will be at the Louis Room of the Norris Student Center (1999 Campus Drive, Evanston, IL 60208).

The Norris parking garage – located south of the Norris Student Center and just off Sheridan Road — will be the most convenient parking option.

Food will be catered from Reza’s Restaurant.

*Please RSVP to numcsa@gmail.com
*There will be an entrance fee of $15 for general admission and $10 for NU students. Payments can be made by cash or check (made out to McSA) at the door.
